Calculating inflation in the high-income population: initial results

Clients often point out that the inflation measured by the IPCA does not reflect the inflation that higher income families perceive. In fact, due to its composition, the IPCA is not an index that represents the consumption habits of this segment of the population.

In this article, we will present the initial results of the IPC Private, an inflation indicator in Brazilian reais that we created to try to more closely mimic the basic basket of goods of the high-income Brazilian population.
