Tariffs are here. How to navigate them in the bond world

Financial markets have reacted very negatively to the series of tariffs imposed by the US on imported goods – and the reaction of other countries. Between April 2 and April 21, the S&P 500 index fell 9%, credit spreads in the high yield segment widened 77 basis points and investment grade bonds widened 18 basis points, while emerging market bonds rose 20 basis points for sovereign bonds and 30 basis points for corporate bonds.
In this article, we look at how to navigate the bond markets given this challenging financial market environment.
