Since the announcement of the reciprocal tariffs on April 2, no other matter has influenced the market as much. The potential recessionary and inflationary impacts of the tariffs contributed to intensifying the narrative of declining American exceptionalism, which created an investor demand for assets outside of the US and contributed to a depreciation shift in the dollar.
